I tried to email you but it didn’t go through, so I thought I could reach you here…Hi, I was looking at your yarns and they are beautiful, so deep and so rich. Gorgeous. I am a designer currently looking to partner with an indie dyer in order to promote both your yarns and my designs with your yarns. I have been looking different dyers over and your colors and fiber content has really struck me. Let me tell you a bit about myself and what I may be looking for.
I have been knitting for 10+ years, and designing for 7. I have only been publishing for three years. It’s been a bit of a struggle learning the ropes, getting a team together, etc. Now I have a test knitter, a tech editor and a publisher. You can visit me on Ravelry (if you’re a member) as dragonflyknit. My designs are for sale there. I am looking to re-knit a few of my designs in different yarns and I have 5 designs drafted and ready for yarn support. FYI, the patterns I want to re-knit are Carnival Wrap, Jewel Box beaded scarf and Hyacinth Lace bag. The patterns I have ready are 2 sock patterns (one is cabled, one is colorwork and knit from the toe up), one glove pattern designed to show off a variegated yarn, a boy’s cabled vest, and a scarf that I have been asked to design to possibly be in an online yarn mag originating in Japan. The publisher is also interested in having me design more items for the magazine and hope it will go into print. I understand that a lot of this depends on how big you want to be and can be.
I have done much research and it seems that the best terms between a dyer and designer are the dyer would provide the yarn for the design, and sell the patterns on your site paying me a wholesale price as the patterns sell. I would also sell the patterns on Ravelry, and your yarns would get much exposure there!
I would really like you to give this consideration and I appreciate your time.
Thank you for reading this and considering the proposal.
