Lots of Yarn & New Things to Knit!

This weekend is the Knitters Fair in Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario, where we will be neatly ensconced in Booth #21 in Marshall Hall, surrounded by walls of yarn.  If you’re in Ontario, come and see us!

For those of you who aren’t, we’re leaving you a taste of what we’re taking with us (read: updated pages!) and introducing you to some amazing new patterns that you can knit with our yarn.  Unless otherwise indicated, all patterns can be purchased from us.

One of my favourite yarns to knit with and wear is our Merino Sock. It’s soft and squooshy and takes colour like no other fibre. Deep, rich, multi-tonal colour.  It amazes me every time.

And because sometimes you just need that bit of nylon for strength and durability, we’ve recently introduced Merino Nylon Sock.  Same great superwash merino, with 20% nylon.

Two new shawlette/shawl designs have been recently released in Indigodragonfly, both using 1 skein of Merino Sock.  In the Knitcircus Fall issue on page 80 is  Dani Berg’s Dolcetto (Rav link), shown here in Tiny Bloodsucking Dancer. (available for purchase directly from Knitcircus)

And designed during the Indigodragonfly Summer Knitalong of Doom is Terri Kruse’s Anonymous Vampire (Rav link).

I love this little shawlette and it’s reference back to Buffy.  I almost want to wear pink because of it.  Almost.  (available for purchase through Ravelry and through Terri’s website)

Natalie JUST finished the pattern for her Velodrome socks, and released it today!  Velodrome comes with versions for both men and women and a variety of foot sizes.  (Even mine!)  Combined with Natalie’s classic style, these are a great addition to any wardrobe.

Glenna’s been at it again.  A series of Firefly sock patterns, using our yarn.  Kaywinnit, for Kaylee.  Companion, for Inara.  And O Captain, My Captain, complete with broken cables for a broken man, for Mal.

And then we have Phillip and Mr. Grumm by Heather Sebastian of Joey’s House.

These guys are another product of the Summer Knitalong of Doom.  Heather’s monsters and minons are so much fun to knit.  So much so, that just talk to us and we can put together a custom kit for Phil and Grum, the Minions  and Sock Monster.  Complete with eyes and enough merino sock to make your new friends.
