Not Yer Gramma's Doilies, or, Mommy - Why Is There Plastic All Over The Furniture?

Years ago, whenever I heard someone mention lace, it always brought to mind either something to do with a wedding dress, Prince’s frilly shirts, or those horrid round yellowing things grandmothers used to keep trapped under vases and lamps – it’d be almost like a scene from “The Fly”, only you’d walk by an end table or mantle and you could almost, just almost, hear a barely discernible tiny doily voice pleading: “Kill Meeeeee”. Doilies ranked right up there in fine home furnishings with the 70s padded fake leather semi-circle rec-room bar and chrome bedroom sets.

Anyhoo, there was some major binge-dyeing this past week, and as a result we whipped up a fine batch o’ MCN Lace for yer oohin&aahin&adoptin – Some new colourways and a few old favourites mixed in to keep the nostalgia-junkies happy. Anyone found using this MCN Lace to make doilies will be forced to knit exclusively with Wal-Mart bargain bin acrylic yarn for the next year…

And if Prince asks, tell him Yes, there are a few purple skeins fer the gettin’…

Best attempts are made to photograph colours accurately, however colours do differ from monitor to monitor (I’ve checked). I’ve also described the colours…and hope that helps.
